Following his collaborative ‘Dillinger’ EP with Mushkilla earlier this year (which gained support from Clash, Jamz Supernova, Tom Ravenscroft, Cabbages & many more) Bristol’s Jevon Ives now makes his first solo appearance on London-based label XVI Records. New single ‘Light In The Dark’ is a melodic and soulful cut, complete with an afrobeats-esque swing and twinkling keys. Jevon shows the breadth of his versatility, switching between smooth bars and delivering melodic vocal performances with ease. The track is an ode to remaining constant and dedicated when in pursuit of one’s passions. Having cut his teeth in Bristol’s bass scene under a number of aliases Jevon has been catching the attention of the UK’s Alt-Hip Hop scene, with recent shows supporting The Mouse Outfit and Coops it’s easy to see why.
